The Ocean

The strong waves shower me
The ocean water wakes me
Momentarily.
The waves lick my feet
Sending a chill through my spine
Lifting my spirits.
Wading through water
Makes a smile play on my face
And it feels like home.
The prussian-blue sea
Welcomes me back, hugging me
With its warm waters.
The water is clear
I can see fish swimming ‘round
Going home for the day.
The coral colours
Shine brighter than the sun as
They peek through the waves
The sun is setting
Behind the line where the sea
Meets the endless sky.
I walk back, content
With the sand squelching
In between my toes.
The sea is special
Home to billions of things,
Including me too.
