The Ocean

Green, Aqua, Navy Blue,
Mesmerising, beautiful, ocean hues,
The sky clear, not a cloud apparent,
My body floats along the calm current.
The scorching sun envelops my body as its warmth encloses me,
Nulling all my senses, till my limbs drown within the sea,
The whistling of the cool wind could no longer be heart,
Nor the calls and cries of seagulls or any other bird.
Serene, tranquil, as peaceful as it seems,
Only the faint sounds of bubbles, sounds only heard in dreams.
Alas, nothing in this world can last,
As my hand is suddenly held while I stare off into the ocean so vast.
My body is dragged, and I awake ashore,
No longer in bliss as I was before,
The burning sand trickled down my feet,
I was sat where the land and the sea meet.
Noisy, bustling, and crowded was the beach,
The peacefulness of the sea now out of reach,
But the reassuring sounds of everyone around,
Was not unwelcomed, as I found.
