The Ocean's Cry

The sea, carrying all its secrets, was once so bright,
Where once was light, shadows now loom with little might.
Like thunder, waves crash, screaming in pain,
Unstoppable pollution causes so much strain.
Disguised as jellyfish, plastic glides, invisible,
A turtle restricted by yokes, like a chain,
Water once blue, a colour now unthinkable,
Nature’s splendours no longer reign.
A song sung by the sea turned into a miserable cry,
Her tears, just as many as raindrops out of the sky.
Clouds of foam, snatching waste left on the shore,
Her final plea for change, soon to be folklore.
All types of shells once had their time to shine,
But now mixed amongst debris, they are no longer divine.
Whales speeding to the surface for air,
Our actions harm their home, they live in despair.
Like sirens, we can sing songs of change,
Let's make our ocean blue again.
By reducing plastic and oil waste forever,
So, we can enjoy this wonderful place together.
