The Old Gum

The old Gumtree sways in the breeze 

While the birds chirp and the bees sneeze

I pay tribute to this Aussie tree

That has been around before you and me

Home to many animals 

Koalas, birds, possums too!

Climb the tree and see the view

Everyone should have a Gumtree on their land

And if you do, it won't look so bland

The Gum has nice timber and hue 

Makes eucalyptus drops for people with the flu

To think people cut them down 

Don't come close to my town!
