The Peace we long for

Songbirds sing as the wind blows softly
onto the endless grassy meadows
animals we couldn't imagine are hiding,
in the grass, which represents the past
when we were one of them
we belonged there, but that was in the past
we ourselves have changed and changed the world around us
We can change it back
in the days when we could die peacefully
without pollution haunting every corner
we turn, where the chairs you see were trees,
trees who bore leaves, not empty trunks
we can fix our path
let nature control us once more
So we can have the peace we long for
