I feel calm
I have a plant on my palm
Ready to grow
As fast as a swooping crow

I lay it down
With my gown
Into the pot
Hoping it will grow a lot

In no time
It was the size of a chime
The plant‘s lush green was like green paint
Enough to make you faint

Then came Spring
In a ping
There was a burst of colours from the flowers
Thanks to the bees' powers

But then came Summer
This was a bummer
The bushfires swept through destroying my home
We were sent to safety

I returned to find everything charred
I cried as I walked through the backyard
My beautiful thriving plant had been fried and died
Which made me sad and I sighed

After the fire a new plant, a gift
Just to hold it gave my heart, a lift
I chose to raise funds to support local wildlife
Everything was back to my normal in life
