Soft, swishing brush strokes of pinks,

warm oranges and hues of blue

on an aquamarine canvas, a little world of her own.

Waves licking her shell-adorned sands,

seagulls talking distinctively, muttering secrets among,

trees reaching for her waters

How long?

The crying coral, slowly vanishing from her oceanic brace,

waving out withered arms for help.

How long?

As beautiful as a cloudless sky that won't last forever.

A wonder that we haven't fully realised.

A cape of plastic worn by the sea life,

oceans of plastic and waste,

the plight of The Great Barrier Reef.
