The Power of Books

Each night when the lights are dimmed
Each night as the world goes to rest
Each night a children defy the allure of slumber
Each night, as they yearn to begin a new quest

Their minds travelling through lands created by the stroke of a pen
Through lands constructed from the word and the mind
Through lands crafted to teach morals and lessons
Through lands real and unreal, their minds intertwine;

And plunge into universes full of magic and mystery
Plunging into universes far and near
Plunging into worlds of dragons and warriors
Plunging into realms of wonder and fear

But not all of these books come from worlds unreal
Not all books contain people and places unknown
Not all books not all books are for pleasure and escape
Some books contain morals and advice to atone

Books are crafted to provide direction and knowledge
Books are crafted to teach of the world past and present
Books are crafted to allow those who are willing into a world of new places and ideas
But most of all, their stories are here to be received and sent
