The Quokka

It rests and watches the sun.
The Quokka settles down and chews on its food on the moist surface of the soil, its teeth munching like a wood chipper.
It lies down looking up at the sky like a stargazer.
The Quokka scrabbles in the long tall grass.
It feels like it goes on forever.
Digesting the native plants.
Smiling all the time.
Quokkas scamper along the dirt road.
As the sun sets.
Stars are like flecks of life.
The sunset is made of gold, as the Quokka sleeps.
