Kilometres wide, the river speeds,

Providing water many a creature needs,

When it comes to supporting life, it plays a vital role,

The river really is the rainforest’s soul,

Dwelling in trees and leaf litter and water,

Frogs do not mind when the weather gets hotter,

These colourful amphibians fill the air with noise,

A sound nearly everyone enjoys,

The frogs are not alone in the band,

They are with the birds that do not need a hand,

Their voices and colours are bold and bright,

Beautiful colours in strong sunlight,

On trees dwell sneaky slithering snakes,

Of birds snacks they will sometimes make,

For food they wait until the night,

Before striking with a rapid deadly bite,

The rainforest really is beautiful,

Of amazing plants and animals, it is full,

At being a wonder of nature, it is a pro,

So, save it before it is gone, like the poor dodo.
