The Red River Gum or Jarrah Noongar

Father to all,
home to many.
One thousand-years-old and
here before many.
Shiny as day
and higher than clouds.
Shelter of First Nations people
Boomerang. Coolamon. Clapping sticks.
Smooth skin and grown
into our ground.
Lives.
Beautiful in colour.
Blood red like a fire in the dark night.
The river gum tree
is a dreaming place
for the calm and peaceful wind.
Home to the animals
that live in the hollows
liked bat, bird, and more living things.
