The Regent Parrot, so pretty and bright,

It is so humble and never will fight.

Its wings are yellow like a sunset hue,

With black, green, red and a brilliant blue.

They live in the gumtrees, so russet and green.

With a sharp, orange beak, and eyes so keen,

It feeds on seeds and fruits are a treat,

Hopping across branches with nimble feet.

The Regent Parrot is found in the south,

Like a nomad it roams towards the river mouth.

Their voice is a squeak, but their singing is pleasant,

Flying the skies like a moon in its crescent.

The Regent Parrot, a true treasure of nature,

A bird so rare, it needs our nurture.

To protect and preserve, for generations to come,

A legacy of beauty, that should never succumb.
