The Sea at Night

The waves reach out like white claws,

Lashing out at the silent shores.

The bats swooped around searching for food,

Their wingbeats adding to the peaceful mood.

For the first time in a lifetime, a flower blooms,

The crickets shrieking about each others' dooms.

Up on the land, many are sleeping, 

Starting to grow is a tiny seedling.

Underneath the surface, life is thriving,

Into a new world, you will be diving.

The calm waters glisten in the pale light,

This beautiful scene is truly a sight.

The dolphins jump and dance about,

The whales shoot water out of their spouts.

Beneath the surface is our history,

Telling tales of many a victory.

Plenty of creatures live beneath its surface,

Uniting the world is its only purpose.

When night falls, it's truly mesmerising,

But it all ends when the sun starts rising.
