Running across the hot summer pavement, feeling my toes turn to fire,
Seeking shelter from the heat, struggling to find any shade in sight.
In the distance it appears, meet with a swarm of green-like flies on a summer evening.
The sudden shade takes my thoughts away as the perfect getaway.
Leaves layer upon layer like a three-tier birthday cake,
A tree never alone standing side by side.
The trees dwarf the whole world with a shadow that will never break.
The tree is majestical, magical and mystical the more I explore,
Trees are a natural wonder making me long for more...
This tranquil tree,
The leaves make a mysterious sound as they rustle in the breeze
As the colours fade from blue to pink,
I rest my head upon the bark tree feeling the textured layers like a scaly fish,
I gaze at the night sky,
Looking at the diverse sky I see stars being ancient storytellers.
