The Serenity of Nature

My back aching

My head throbbing 

I never thought my head could hurt this much 

My mind flashes to the pile of papers towering on my desk 

I take a deep breath

I feel the warm wind running down my neck 

My ears are filled with the loud sound of my dogs barking

I look around 

the sublime trees are overshadowing me, protecting me like a mother protecting her child

I see the sun peeking over the tree smiling down at me 

The leaves crunch underneath my feet as I walk towards it 

I suddenly stop not able to go any further

I turn 

Finding my dogs barking at the birds that soar above us 

My body gets flooded with a sense of self as I realise I'm surrounded by beautiful nature.  

I suddenly feel undisturbed like I'm a beautiful, buoyant butterfly
