The Shadows in the Forest

I ran into the trees as tall as a pyramid, I didn’t want to go in, but I did. 

I turned on my lantern to admit some light, and then all the sudden came back my sight. 

I tried to sit down, to have a rest, but I heard leaves rustling around me in the darkness. 

“Who’s there?” I yelled but the forest consumed it, and at that moment my lantern became unlit. 

I felt shadows surrounding me as I stood there in fright, so I ran to the river that was shimmering in the moonlight. 

I saw a shadow ahead of me as I took a step back, I took another that’s when I fell of the track. 

Splash! My body went when I fell into the river, I started to shiver. 

I saw at the river bank a big brown bear, I really wanted to, go back on this dare. 

I saw a root floating ahead of me, I was thinking if this really was reality. 

I grabbed it and pulled myself to the riverbank I coughed up some water that I accidentally drank. 

I got out of the river and started dash, I was going as fast as flash. 

I didn’t know what happened next, and now we both are perplexed.
