The shining rainbow

The beautiful rainbow, shining in the light,
Its shimmering colours are very bright.
I wonder if the rainbow's polite.

It sounds like a shimmering star,
Although for me it's very far.
It smells like a candy wonderland, 
And tastes like one too.
I see its colourful sparkles,
Sparkling in the distance.
All I want is to touch it too.

I ask,
"Can I really hear you?"
It answers,
"That's for you to find out."

I wish it was always there.
As the light rain falls,
The beautiful delight begins to shine.
The colourful rainbow
Will always be mine.
The beautiful rainbow shining in the light.
