We are all of the sea we are saline-steeped all
All have blood gifted by ocean ancestors
but you Cetaceans are set apart
you returned
resettled the Deeps.
And so I call to you – brother sister cousin alter ego shadow –
Friend
hear me through the diesel churn the propeller surge
the cavitation that robs you of
communication navigation reproduction LIfe
let me be the frequency
the apology
the pilot that sings you safely home.
