The Snorkel

She is silent, but powerful
I wonder what it would be
Like to go deeper, deeper, deeper
Into the unknown,
The water tasting like a bitter lemon,
The fish scales, like glimmering jewels
Shining so bright,
The relaxing touch of water, feeling like
The softest wool.
I see the schools of fish following each
Other around, just like sheep
I want to keep it safe,
I see people ruining it, hating it, killing it
I ask, “is it always like this?”
She replies, “yeah, that’s what makes it beautiful”.
She is silent, but powerful.
