The sonnet of seasons

The year begins with unbearable heat,
Waves of all sizes crash like a steam train,
Refraining the frantic burns from your feet,
An ice-cream in hand, you cannot complain.
The school year appears in no time at all,
Kids flock in like a stampede of rhinos,
The crisp, brown autumn leaves commence their fall,
Making a piece like Michelangelo’s.
The warmth of hot chocolates heats our souls,
As the fireplace helps us to defrost,
So cold it feels like the North and South Poles,
It makes a labyrinth, I feel I’m lost.
Spring arrives with pollen filling the sky,
People alert to the swooping magpie.
