The Stormy Night

The rain like the depths of Antarctica
As it crawls down my leg into my shoes
I watch the water turn to ice from far
It is so cold I shiver and turn blue

The frightening thunder booms through the night
The thunder sends shivers across our spines
"Boom!" It gets darker, it gives me a fright
The cold rain and thunder are like a sign

The bright shocking lightning runs through the sky
Turning the night sky into the bright day
The bright lightning blinds me, it burns my eyes
It strikes the night like a snake strikes its prey

Suddenly it all ends and the sun rises 
Watching the moon go past the horizon
