The Swirl

The ocean holds secrets,
Buried treasure and secret meet-ups,
Coups and parlays,
Hidden under the swirl.
The perfect place to disappear,
Waiting under the swirl.
Deep dark trenches,
Fish with lanterns for eyes,
All living under the swirl.
Boats swallowed whole,
Lovers missing letters,
Babies missing fathers,
All taken by the swirl.
Inky water telling lies,
Until you're under the swirl.
And not a whisper will be heard,
Once we're under the swirl.
