The Tree

For the moments you pretended you were fine,
that you weren't hurting inside,
vile black goo consuming your body,
as you wiped stinging tears off your pretty pink cheeks;
Remember, you are worth it.
As the stars
shimmer through the blackness,
so do you.
The moon gleamed,
and the sun shone,
however both desirous
of your stardust soul.
Outraged elliptical galaxies gaze upon you,
planted so perfectly,
nothing close to askew.
You are worth it.
You lose your leaves,
like you're losing control,
your lush disguise
exposing what is really inside.
But leaves will grow back,
stand strong knowing that soon,
they'll be more dazzling than ever.
You are worth it.
When the darkness takes over,
like a veil over life,
know that the light is on the other side.
Take a moment to disconnect,
to listen to the silence,
sense the rhetorically unsaid,
the truth is finally out:
You are worth the world.
Welcome home.
