They are building a tunnel; under the harbour it will remain.

Costing us billions of dollars, do we not get a say?

Cars, trucks and construction dust,

Contaminate the air and our lungs can't adjust.

Thunderous noise invades our homes,

Sleepless nights that vibrate through our bones.

Like a fiery volcano erupting into the air,

Or a hungry, menacing, merciless bear.

Grandma can't sleep, had to move away,

She doesn't need that stress at her life stage.

Gone are our gracious, ancient trees,

That gave us oxygen and let us breathe.

Chopped down by diggers and tunnel bores,

Birds, bees and possums rarely heard anymore.

Now soulless skyscrapers loom in the sky.

Why is this not considered a crime?
