The Voice of Mother Nature

Ten years in the future the rallies will gather in heat,
Their footsteps will align in a uniformed march to a beat,
The beat of protesters shouting and begging for government action,
Some praying on their knees, almost like a chain reaction.
"Global warming is because of climate change," they are saying
Ice melting, species dying.
"Where will the polar bears go with no ice?" they are crying,
"Something has to change quickly; or else we aren’t going to make it out of this surviving…"
"This will cause a global uprising."
"There is no hiding."
There will be drought and storms and heatwaves,
There will be suffering while battling the rising waves,
The funding of fossil fuels, gas, oil, and coal will bring strife,
They will cut through the ozone layer as easy as a knife,
Don’t people understand this is a definite doomsday call,
Don’t you understand our planet will fall?
"Bring back humanity," the people will say,
Through muffled groans underneath the plastic decay.
Ten years in the future, Mother Earth will be left to fate…
Ten years in the future, it’ll be too late.
