Nature welcomes us with the warmest hug

Like sand

Between my toes and the early morning sun

As it creeps, up the honey-coloured horizon.

She gave us slippery stones

That are home to emerald-green moss

She gave us glossy leaves

And trees that sway

Even in the softest breeze

Water drips from the wet branches,

Like liquid gold (she gave us that too)

Nature welcomed us,

With the warmest hug

But even,

After everything,

We didn't hug back.
