The Watch

Distant memories of a watch go by,
Light glistening off its silver ring.
The sound it made when the hour was nigh
Calming like the world around me.
In the garden i would sit for hours,
Its charm would trap me in a world of wonder
No escape until you look away.
It would often make you ponder
Where did it come from?
It mystifies me
I think some more
while I walk by the sea
That was in the past.
It doesn't belong to me now
That glimpse of it was probably my last.
Distant memories of a watch go by...
