The Watery Grave

The rain scatters tickling my leaves,
Spilling into the soil
Blanketing the trees
The velvety clouds veil the sky,
The wind growls
The heavens starts to cry
Bitter clouds begin to erupt
Pouring down a soaking rush,
Rain howls and takes over the land
Water drenches
I can hardly stand
The land is an ocean
As far as the eye can see
I’m battling to stay alive
In this never-ending sea
But as water surges into the soil
My grasp to the earth decreases
But helplessly I can no longer toil
I am swallowed by the beast
A mask of dusky water submerges my world
