The White Butterfly

The flag of peace draped around my shoulders,

Trailing behind, weightless, floating,

A dancer,

The star of my own show,

No time for autographs,

On the road again,

My journey to the final curtain,

Show after show, 

Day after day, 

As the hours elapse,

The journey nearing the end,

I have no fear,

It’s time for a new performer to enter,

My time is over, do not cry,
