Growl! Hisss! Crunch!
The independent tassie devil wakes up and finds himself,
tangled up with a huge python. Crunch!
The devil crunches a mighty bite. Sssssssss!
The snake sprawls away as it slithers limply into the horizon.
The devil walks shakily for the first few steps,
then launches into life as if he is an eagle soaring
through the brilliant turquoise blue of skies.
Snap!
What was that?
It was an old goat that lay on the juicy fresh grass from the field.
In one second, as quick as a flash, the devil pounces on its meal.
Consuming, crunching up its contents.
The devil's teeth are razor-sharp blades.
In the blink of an eye, it vanishes into the distant view of lush green.
The mysterious forest that many different types of animals and plants live in.
Drip. Drip.
The devil arrives home. Its home is a thousand-year-old cave.
It snuggles up comfortably on the leaves it found.
Then it falls into a deep sleep as if it hasn't slept in a long time.
