Waving in the wind, spreading its beauty

The wonder and splendour of the earth all here to see

Birds chirping and leaves glistening in the sun

Where would I be if not for these trees?

Early-morning dew shows the late-night drizzle

A new sapling here to see growing in the glowing sun and with leaves three

The forest is alive but we cut it down

The forest is alive but we force it to extinction

Our need for consumption is obliterating this heaven

This true paradise is slipping through our fingers

I see trees as tall as skyscrapers with nests as apartments

An estate of burrows is laid out before me

To think that this living utopia could be a parking lot

Crushes my heart, that cannot be

Like an oasis covered in sand, buildings could cover this land

But there is already someone living here with furry tails and glorious wings

This wonderland sits in the middle

The middle of the chaos

And the middle of our disarray

This forest is our only chance
