Through The Forest’s Lens

What was once together has now been torn apart,
the forest is part of us, have we lost our heart?
Free flowing forest trees dolefully sway no more,
now that we have quelled the forest that we should adore.
But not just the flora has had its life destroyed,
the fauna living amongst the trees is now within a void.
The creatures of the forest feel things just like we do,
once blue skies brew deafening cries, bulldozer passing through.
We have a duty to care for the nature we surround,
yet we are allowing our forests to become eerie ground.
We are neglecting our responsibilities, one cut at a time,
but we truly have the chance to turn around our crime.
The Indigenous Community has respected the land,
they are a part of the nature, nature’s right-hand man.
Only taking what they need, they're admirable attributes.
The forest is, was, and always will be their strong and loving roots.
Save Aboriginal culture, save the forest, save our friends.
Let’s share our compassion, look through the forest’s lens.
