You look at me when you feel your stomach is filled with emptiness,
Even in my old and beaten state, I still work for you.
You’ll hear me sounding my alarm when you have to wake up,
You hate me when I unintentionally interrupt your deep sleep,

Everybody needs me if they want to be early to their daily life,
I’m the necessity everyone needs.
Billions price me high and low,
Not realising my purpose doesn’t change,

Without my involuntary help,
You wouldn’t even know the time
I'll tell you when the sun will set,
When the moon will rise,

I am as complex as my simple purpose,
A simple purpose controlled by a battery,
I live through my life while my power depletes,
Hoping it never will.
