The Torres Strait is the place to be at. Its island is surrounded by reefs and other small islands. It has beautiful beaches, sunset and nice clear blue water to swim in. It could be hot in the afternoon and the Torres Strait only has two weather hot and rainy seasons. There are four wind blows in the Torres strait and the there are five regions - inner island (Kaiwalagal), near Western (Maluilgal), top Western (Guda Maluilgal), central (Kulkalgal) and Eastern (Meriam). All the different islands speak a different language - Eastern island speaks (Meriam Mir) and the western and central island speaks (Kala Lagaw Ya or Kala Kawa Ya). When you go camping you can feel the breeze blowing on your feet and it feels like you don’t need to go in the tents. The reefs are colourful and beautiful, and the people are nice. The food is nice, and the artworks the people make are beautiful it tells you about how our grandparents lived and caught food for their family. And the things I miss about home is my family and the food.
