We provide animals with necessities

We live for the monkeys, the birds and the bees

As important as mountains, volcanoes and seas

Who are we? We are but trees.

Our grandfathers hold history

They are important to us, to you and to me

But despite our might, strength and power

There are businessmen who will devour

Day after day our family falls

The trees were once important to us and to all

In summer the flames reach higher and higher

Because of a careless cigarette

We are gone in fire

We are demolished and annihilated

Our hopes were up, and now deflated

So hear our cries and save the trees

Do it for the monkeys, the birds and the bees.
