When earth among man rumbles to a rise

When years hundredfold form stairs to the sky

The tremors’ brief warning of their demise

In that small moment, no soul shall not cry

Then families of all sizes quickly flee

Leaving their homes that they built from ground up

All they could fit in a boat on the sea

Out there they are soon left with bone-dry cups

Back at the island the mountain explodes

The ground ripped bare from the impact of man

In many more years the old rocks erode

The soil now rich for new growth to plan

And after these events new life will thrive

Now void of man the island is alive
