If you were to wear my shoes
Would you do the things I have done?
Fight the battles that I must fight
Or would you turn around and run?
Would you experience the laughter
The pain
The long walks
Like I have,
Or will you hide?

If you were to wear my shoes
Would they still be white,
Or will they be stained black from continuous hikes?
Will they follow you like a hawk
Or will their loyalty deceive you?
Will the shoes make you taller
Or will they make you run faster?

But then again you have never walked in my shoes
