Leaves lay limp on the dusty grey ground,

water swirling round and round.

Kids are laughing here and there,

splashing, playing, a swimming fair.

Leaves like paper fall to the ground,

elders talk wisdom and spare.

Memories unfolding, more and more,

water, like a time machine,

holding memories and everlasting life.

Waves ripple bigger, bigger,

the freshwater smell flourishes through air,

Smell a whiff of life.

Glossy black cockatoos flying overhead,

macadamia trees growing taller and taller.

Grey clouds turn, get closer and closer.

People start to pack and leave,

rain starts to tap its fingertips,

trees start to whisper goodbye.

The water of life starts to turn its back,

but soon again, they will be back.
