The calming scent of the cool salty air.

I wanted some peace.

Away from the bustle

of the city and missing an alien feeling

A feeling of underlying harmony for this place.

The Gallipoli Peninsula.

The tide's cobalt blue fades.

The tide's tranquillity despite commotion in the trees.

The tide's water trembles from the distant shellfire

This tide is where I used to come for my peace

and my reconciliation, with myself.

The sight of the war’s effect on the land gives me such an urge

to draw my determination for my prompt return to reality.

But this is all just nature in its true diversity,

nothing to hide, nothing to show. True diversity.

If you can dream of such a place, well certainly

take a deep breath and smell the scent of the cool salty air...
