We're Just Human After All

What can we do?
We're just human after all
We're all broken
To some extent
And yet,
We piece ourselves together
Because we know someone else
Is more broken than we are
So, all us children
Meant to hate and dispute
Born of ashes and blood
Forged out of revenge and war
Patch ourselves together
Just enough
To bring back
Whoever is more broken
Than we already are
Because we're all so stubborn
Too stubborn to back down from a fight
Or just let what happens, happen
Or let ourselves be happy that we survived
And leave it at that
But who can blame us?
We look up to broken soldiers and warriors
Born out of the dust
Forged out of battles
They remind us that
Us stubborn things
That we will always look out
For the more broken
The worse off
The underdog
And the little guy
What can we say?
It's in our blood
We're just human after all
