Western Barred Bandicoots

 You have heard of a koala, and a kangaroo. 

 You have heard of a possum, and a cockatoo. 

 You have heard of a Tasmanian tiger, 

 And know they are extinct. 

 But have you heard,  

 of this marvellous thing? 

 A Western barred bandicoot, 

 small but mighty. 

 A Western barred bandicoot, 

 Their numbers declining. 

 Now they are no more, 

 and no matter how hard we pray, 

 They will never come back,  

 to see another day. 

 Let's raise awareness, this will happen again, 

 To black cockatoos,  

 their story the same. 

 Let's help stop climate change, cut down less trees. 

 So species like this, 

 can roam the land again, free.
