The lights go out,
The humans flop to their beds,
The dappled moonlight covers the ground,
The bush is alive,
A rustle in the treetops,
A possum slinks across the branch,
A quoll slides out from the shrubs,
This is a secret place that only the stars truly see,
A secret land for nocturnal animals,
It is a bustling city for all creatures,
An owl hoots in the distance,
A bandicoot sprints under the ferns for shelter,
There is a mossy clearing,
The moonlight is peeking through the trees,
A lyrebird steps out from the bush and starts to sing,
Another steps out to dance and sing in the dead of night,
The sun is rising,
The animals scuttle back to their secret world.
