Whispering Sighs

My leaves whisper as the wind blows
I sprout up as my branches grow.
I provide shade as much as I can
As my branches shake like a fan.
Little children hang on me
It hurts so much I’m sad as can be.
Tiny creatures live in me
Kids throw rocks at them, but it misses and strikes right at me
My leaves flicker like they're dancing in the moonlight
My hollow hole at night makes kids scream in fright.
I don’t know why people treat me a bit differently
I hope soon they will treat me gently,
But for now I’m sad as can be.
