If you had feathered wings to lift you,

And a beak that could pierce through the sky,

You’d find a windy palace,

A world complex and divine.

Above the cotton candy clouds,

The sun shines across your face.

You’d forget the leafy forest

And the risks you were willing to take.

Would you miss the soil

squishing beneath your feet?

Or remember the tapping on the oak tree,

the unknown dew - bittersweet.

If you had enough courage

And the energy to fly,

You’d reach wonderful places

That flutter graciously, up within the sky.
