Wish You Were There, Sam

From the day you barked at me from the day you died,
From the day you left me from the day I cried.
I will always remember you, Sam, no matter what anyone has to say,
So big, so protective, but yet cute in your own special way.
As I paint this part on the canvas, I'm painting you orange with blue ears,
A sky full of blue, the clouds are white, you're in heaven now, although there are no tears.
I also remember you had a love-heart printed on your backside,
I wish I could have painted that on the canvas that was wide.
As I write this poem tears are running down my cheek,
I'm going to look at the canvas just a little peek,
And there you are! ...
I will never forget when I used to lie on your back,
You lying there as well and behind you was me,
With the warmth of us sleeping together happily.
The warmth a heater, the radiation of our hearts
I didn't matter I could still imagine you!
You licked my nose, you ruffled my hair,
I used to ride you like a pony but you didn't care.
Sam I wish I can squeeze you one more time,
But don't worry your heart is always next mine!
