Their home has been cleared,

no trees for an abode.

No longer do they fly as far as they used to.

No longer to they feed the young.

As the lands welcome other aggressive species,

their numbers are lost.

Residing in eucalypt forests and woodlands,

their safety is yet guaranteed.

Once they used to fly in the south-eastern mainlands,

now they're hidden away.

As they lose their homes to deforestation and bushfires,

their numbers decline.

Critically endangered,

sometimes not present,

the Regent Honeyeater

is without a home.
