World of Fungi

All my life
I’ve walked the gardens
for the peace and tranquility it harbours
All this time it’s not the flowers
But the verdant fungi mushroom caps
And stems like towers
Nature’s recycler
Demise reviver
King of the understory the ruler of nature
Older than the dinosaurs
From before the reptiles
Older than the first land life that made the earth fertile
They are in the animals
In every single child
There is endless fungi we depend on for survival
Fungi built the world
Fungi can fix it
We do not own the earth but fungi simply share it
If humans broke the earth
Then fungi would rule again with its royal mycelium crown.
