Its branches remain indifferent in infinite slowness.
Soft green fronds unfurl;
so many fingers, hands;
timeless, indifferent.

The fern is steady, so unafraid of the dark.
It sits, watching the morning dew and the cold mists.

Work, stress, worry:
Means little.
A contrast.
A splash of green.
A reminder there is more than this.

Millennia of watching species come and go.
Branches silently stretch as time departs
Fragile, yet unstoppable
It sits, silently, by the glass as world thunders on around it.
