Ivy Alvarez is the author of Disturbance (Wales: Seren Books, 2013) and Mortal (2006). Her shorter collections include The Everyday English Dictionary (London: Paekakariki Press, 2016) and Hollywood Starlet (Chicago: dancing girl press, 2015).

A MacDowell and Hawthornden Fellow thrice-nominated for the Pushcart Prize, both Literature Wales and the Australia Council for the Arts awarded her grants towards the writing of her second collection, Disturbance.

Her poems appear in anthologies, journals and new media in many countries, including Best Australian Poems (2009 and 2013), The Age/Sydney Morning Herald,TakahēLandfall and Junctures, with individual poems translated into Russian, Spanish, Japanese and Korean.

Born in the Philippines and raised in Australia, she lived in Scotland, Ireland and Wales before moving to Auckland, NZ in 2014.
