
Jo Giles
Jo Giles lives in a railway carriage on Beeliar Noongar Boodja in Hamilton Hill with Ross and Jacky Blue. Jo is non binary and has Cystic Fibrosis. Jo is a regular attendee at Perth Slam since 2021. In November, 2022, they won the Perth Grand Slam Cup. They are a 4 time WA state finalist in the Australian Poetry Slam, placing first in 2024 and going on to win the National Championship at the Sydney Opera House. Jo writes micro fiction and poems that discuss issues around disability, death and gender. Their essay “The Fray” has appeared in the 2025 Fremantle Press Edition: “Women of a Certain Courage” (Ed. By Bron Bateman).
